What financial assistance options do you have?Cost should never be a barrier to finding your third place. We have many programs to assist families who need support, including: ✅ Accepting Waivers and payment from RMHS Mill Levy Support Plans or Developmental Pathways Unmet/Under-met Needs Programs ✅ Scholarship Program funded through generous community donations
-
What should I know before I come?Socks are required for kids and caregivers. Don't worry if you forget them, we have some for purchase! Save time by registering in advance, or check in when you arrive
-
What is your capacity limit? We cap the number of kiddos in our space to 15, not including adults. We do this to keep the environment sensory-friendly, which means avoiding overcrowding or getting too loud. During Open Play hours, it's first come first serve and you do not need to reserve a spot. We recommend checking the counter on our home page before coming to make sure we are not at capacity 🙂
-
What is your age range? Most of our equipment specifically supports kids 12 and under, so for safety we limit our Open Gym hours to this age range. However, we recognize the huge need for these types of spaces older kids/teens and we are working on solutions, including dedicated teen social hours, teen night events, and partnering with other organizations who are more equipped to support this age group.
-
Are you open to the public?Yes! Our space is designed for anyone who benefits from a sensory-friendly environment. We put extra care and focus into being welcoming to neurodivergent and disabled children and their families, however we absolutely welcome siblings, friends, or anyone who just wants a calm environment to let their children play. This can include homeschoolers, littles, introverts, or anyone who just doesn't enjoy a typical loud and wild kids play space.
-
Do I need to make a reservation?Nope! We have open play times that allow families to come and go as you please. We have a calendar of dedicated times in development and will share more once it is ready!
-
Is your space accessible for physical disabilities?Absolutely! We are proud to have one of the only indoor wheelchair accessible swings around, as well as a wheelchair accessible sensory tables, and other interactive installations that are great for intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities. Note: The wheelchair swing is by request only, if you would like to use it we ask that you please call ahead and let us know so we can get it setup for you 💛

What is a Third Place?A" Third Place" refers to a social environment separate from the two usual social environments of home ("first place") and the school or workplace ("second place"). These are informal public places where people can gather, socialize, and engage with the community. They play a crucial role in fostering connections, promoting vibrant social interactions, and enriching community life.
